Terms of Service

1. Agreeing to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Deus Core ("we", "us") about this website and every app and service we make, including GN Pianist and Karaoke Queue! (each a "Product"). By using the website or a Product, or buying a license or pass, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Some Products have their own extra terms, for example the Karaoke Queue! Terms of Use. Those apply to that Product too, and if they conflict with these Terms, the Product's own terms win for that Product.

You must be at least 13 to use our Products. If you're under 18, use them only with a parent or guardian's permission; only an adult may make a purchase.

2. Your license to use our software

When you download, buy or use a Product, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use it for your own use, under these Terms. The Product itself (its code, design, name and logos) stays ours; you're buying the right to use it, not ownership.

• License limits: each Product's page says what a license covers. For example, a GN Pianist license activates on one PC; to move it, deactivate it on the old PC first.
• You may not: copy, share, resell, rent or publish the software or license keys; crack, bypass or tamper with licensing or activation; reverse-engineer or decompile it except where the law allows; or remove our notices.
• Updates: we may release updates that add, change or remove features. Some Products need an internet connection to activate or check a license now and then.

3. Purchases, licenses and refunds

• Our purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller of record and handles payment, receipts and sales tax. Its buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
• Prices are shown before you buy. A one-time license is paid once; a time-limited pass lasts for the period shown, starting when its key is issued, and doesn't renew automatically unless the checkout clearly says it does.
• We sell software, not content. Paid versions add app features; they never sell or unlock songs, videos or other people's content, and you never pay to watch a video.
• Refunds: if a Product doesn't work for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of buying, with your order number. We review every request; if the license or pass hasn't been used, we'll normally refund it in full; if it has been used, we may give a partial refund or none, depending on how much was used. Refunds are made through Lemon Squeezy. Nothing here limits refund rights the law where you live gives you.
• If a payment is reversed or charged back, or a license is used in a way that breaks these Terms, we may deactivate that license.

4. Our apps are tools: you are responsible for what you use them with

Our Products are tools. We don't sell or license any music, songs, videos, lyrics, sheets or other third-party content, and buying a Product doesn't give you rights to any of it.

• You are responsible for the files, videos, songs, MIDI files, sheets and links you use with our Products, and for having the rights you need to use them.
• Where a Product shows content made by other people (for example community song sheets in GN Pianist, or video links in Karaoke Queue!), that content belongs to its owners, is provided as-is, and is not checked or endorsed by us.
• Using music in public or for business (a bar, an event, a stream, a video you publish) may need licenses that you must get yourself.

5. Other apps, games and websites

Some Products work with other people's software. For example, GN Pianist plays notes by sending keystrokes to a virtual piano in another program or game (like Roblox or virtualpiano.net), and Karaoke Queue! plays videos in other sites' embedded players.

• Those programs, games and sites have their own rules. Some don't allow automation, macros or auto-play tools. It's your responsibility to check and follow their rules. We aren't responsible if a game or site limits, suspends or bans your account.
• Deus Core is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Roblox, YouTube or any other company whose products ours can work with. Their names belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
• Use our Products fairly: don't use them to cheat in competitions, harass other players, or break the rules of a place you're in.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use our website or Products to: break any law; infringe copyrights or other rights, or share pirated content; spread malware; attack, overload, scrape or get around the security or limits of our services; impersonate anyone; or try to get around a block or ban. We may suspend licenses, block access or remove content that we believe breaks these Terms.

7. Copyright complaints

We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Send notices about any Deus Core Product to [email protected] with the subject line "DMCA Notice". Our Copyright Policy lists what a notice and a counter-notice must include. Deus Core maintains a policy providing for the restriction or termination of access for people who repeatedly infringe copyright; we consider the circumstances, severity, frequency and history of reported violations when deciding what to do.

8. Privacy

How we handle information is explained in our Privacy Policy (and, for Karaoke Queue!, its own Privacy Policy).

9. Changes and ending

We may change, pause or stop the website or any Product, or a feature, at any time. You can stop using a Product at any time. We may suspend or end your license or access if you break these Terms. Sections 4–7 and 10–14 still apply after that.

10. Disclaimer

OUR WEBSITE AND PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THEY WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, THAT THEY WILL WORK WITH ANY PARTICULAR GAME, APP, WEBSITE OR DEVICE, OR THAT ANY THIRD-PARTY CONTENT IS LAWFUL OR ACCURATE. YOU USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, DEUS CORE AND ITS OWNER, CONTRACTORS AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, ACCOUNTS (INCLUDING GAME ACCOUNTS) OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO OUR WEBSITE, PRODUCTS, ANY THIRD-PARTY CONTENT, SOFTWARE OR SERVICE, OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT BE MORE THAN THE GREATER OF (A) WHAT YOU PAID US FOR THE PRODUCT IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) US $20.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that can't be limited or excluded by law (for example for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence). Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you; then our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

12. Your responsibility to us (indemnity)

To the extent allowed by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Deus Core and its owner, contractors and partners from any claims, damages, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable lawyers' fees) arising from: the content you use with our Products; your use of our Products with other apps, games or websites; any public or commercial use; your breaking these Terms; or your violating any law or anyone else's rights. This doesn't apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own breach of these Terms, negligence or wrongful conduct.

13. Disputes

Before filing any claim, please email [email protected] so we can try to solve it informally within 30 days. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where Deus Core is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arose, where the law allows that limit.

14. General

These Terms (with any Product's own terms and our Privacy Policy) are the whole agreement between you and us about our website and Products. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part right away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to someone who takes over a Product. We may update these Terms and will change the date at the top; using our website or Products after a change means you accept the new Terms.
